How to Schedule Campaign Donations
Campaigns let you schedule and stack donation campaigns so your store supports a different charity over set date ranges — a new cause each month, quarter, or season. Once a campaign is scheduled, GoodAPI automatically changes the charity of choice, updates your badges and content, and settles back to your default charity when the campaign ends.
Note: Campaigns build on the Donations feature. If you haven’t set up donations yet, start with Setting Up Donations.
Where to find Campaigns
Section titled “Where to find Campaigns”- In the app, open the Donations tab.
- Go to Settings, then the Campaign section.
From here you can schedule and stack multiple campaigns.
How to schedule a campaign
Section titled “How to schedule a campaign”1. Name your campaign
Section titled “1. Name your campaign”Give the campaign a name that reflects the cause — for example, Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
2. Set the date range
Section titled “2. Set the date range”Choose the start date and end date the campaign should run. You can also adjust the start and end times if you need finer control.
For example, set the campaign to run from September 1st to September 30th.
3. Choose the charity
Section titled “3. Choose the charity”Search for and add the charity you want this campaign to support (for example, a breast cancer research foundation). Remove any previously selected charity so only the campaign charity remains.
4. Choose how customers contribute
Section titled “4. Choose how customers contribute”Pick your contribution settings:
- Customer-funded — customers contribute at checkout.
- Round Up — order totals are rounded up and the difference is donated.
- Allow fixed donations (optional) — let customers give a set amount beyond the round-up.
5. Schedule the campaign
Section titled “5. Schedule the campaign”Click Schedule Campaign. GoodAPI will automatically switch to this charity and run the campaign for the dates you set.
Stacking multiple campaigns
Section titled “Stacking multiple campaigns”You can stack campaigns so they run back-to-back automatically. Repeat the steps above to add another campaign for a different date range and cause.
For example:
- September 1st – September 30th → Breast Cancer Research Foundation
- October 1st – October 31st → a women’s mental health charity (customer-funded, Round Up)
Once scheduled, your campaigns run in sequence with no manual work. Badges and on-site content update on their own for each active campaign.
What happens when a campaign ends
Section titled “What happens when a campaign ends”When a campaign finishes:
- If you have a default charity set, donations settle back to your default charity.
- If you don’t have a default charity, donations pause until the next campaign begins.
This makes it easy to change up your giving every month, quarter, or at whatever frequency fits your brand.
